Hi, I’m Susan Doherty — founder of OM Your Life, E-RYT 500 yoga teacher, Accredited Menopause Yoga Instructor, Certified Menopause Specialist, Reiki Master, and midlife advocate.
I found yoga in my 40s, at a time when I was raising four young boys under the age of 7 and desperately needed calm in the chaos. At first, I loved the heat and challenge of vigorous vinyasa classes — but as I entered perimenopause, my body told me it needed something different. The same intense practices I once loved left me depleted, not empowered.
That realization changed everything.
I began to see how many women around me — students, friends, colleagues — were also struggling with the physical and emotional shifts of midlife. Menopause was treated like a taboo or a medical condition to fix, rather than the profound life stage it truly is.
I made it my mission to change that narrative.
Since 2010 I’ve studied and taught yoga in many forms, adding advanced certifications in Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Meditation, Menopause Yoga, Reiki, and more. My teaching philosophy is simple: Yoga is for every body, at every stage of life.
Today, I help women in midlife embrace this transition with strength, balance, and confidence — through corporate wellness programs, group classes, workshops, and private coaching. My classes are accessible yet challenging, focusing on building strength, maintaining mobility, calming the mind, and empowering you to feel energized — not exhausted — as you move through this milestone.
